We believe that the bible is the inspired Word of God, the only article unerring in content and the only authoritative in regards to all aspects of live. The Bible is our resource for spiritual teaching and preaching. We believe that there is only one God, that as perplexing as it seems He is three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that His existence is without beginning or end. We believe in the paradoxical fact that our Lord Jesus Christ is completely man and at the same time completely God. We believe that His mother was a virgin at the time of His birth, that he lived in complete obedience to God the Father, and that He performed supernatural miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus' cruel death on the cross paid the price of sin - that He was the perfect sacrifice for the death-dealing disobedience of all mankind. We believe He physically came back to life, that He returned to His rightful place of authority at the right hand side of God the Father in heaven, and that one day He will personally return to take His place as ultimate ruler of the universe. We believe that true sorrow, accompanied by a turning from a life of rebellion against God, and faith in Jesus Christ are absolutely necessary and the only means for us to come into relationship with our Creator God. We refer to this as being saved from a life of sin and separation from God. We also believe that God Himself has granted to each of us, without coercion, the choice between relationship with or rebellion against Him. We believe that the Holy Spirit pursues and welcomes us before we put our faith in Jesus, and that His Presence comes to live within us when we do so. The Holy Spirit enables us to live at peace with God, in obedience to Him and in deepening relationship with Him. We believe that all of us, whether or not we choose to live in relationship with God, will live forever after we die. Those who choose to have God as part of their life now, will live forever with Him in the paradise of heaven; those who choose to live separate from God now, will live forever separated from Him in the place of torment called Hell. We believe that God's Holy Spirit binds together in unity all those who place their trust in Jesus Christ. This unified group is called the Church. We understand that the Church is not perfect because people are not perfect. On the other hand, we acknowledge that God has chosen to use imperfect people to accomplish His plan for our world. In light of the above beliefs, it can bee seen that Light and Life Christian Preschool seeks not to have an intolerant or elitist approach to education, but rather a Christian one. It is organized to serve children and their families regardless of gender, race, social status or church affiliation. Light & Life Christian Preschool is a ministry of Light and Life Free Methodist Church and exists to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the perspective of God’s Word, we strive to meet the educational needs of each student in harmony with the Church’s objectives. Our dedicated staff will continually express love and concern for every child as an individual, regardless of gender, social, cultural, race, economic or religious background. The teachings of the Holy Scriptures concerning God, man, nature, life and eternity are accepted as truth and are integrated into our approach to early childhood academic education. We believe that it is necessary for all students to interact with Christian adults, to hear Biblical truths, and to feel the love of God in order to form a positive Christian Worldview. Early Childhood Education is a responsibility given to each parent. Therefore we believe we are a part of your family team. The education received at Light & Life Christian Preschool will only be complete when reinforced in the home. It is our mission to provide the best possible opportunities for children to grow spiritually and succeed in early childhood academic, moral, physical and social development. In addition, it is also our desire to provide parents with the tools necessary to raise children up in the Lord. Light & Life Christian Preschool uses a Christian-based curriculum for early childhood development and introduction to the world of academics. The purchased curriculum is further enhanced through the teaching experience and expertise of the teaching staff and administrator. 3 year olds 8 children 4 year olds 10 children Pre-k(5s) 10 children School HoursClasses meet for 3 hours from 9:15 am to 12:15 pm. The Building remains locked until 5minutes prior to the start of class. All children are required to be escorted to and from the classroom by a parent or guardian. For safety reasons, the doors are re-locked at 9:30 am and re-opened at 12:00 pm for pick-up. If you need to enter the building during this time, please us the North entrance of the building. Light & Life Christian Preschool makes no discrimination in its admission policy for the educational services on the grounds of race, social, cultural, national or religious background. All children must be toilet trained and independent in the restroom. Light & Life Christian Preschool operates classes for 3 to 5 year olds. A child must attain the appropriate age for his/her class prior to attendance in that class. All children must provide evidence of up-to-date immunizations prior to the first day of attending school. Your child cannot be left at school without this information being on file. Light & Life Christian Preschool must know how to contact a parent or guardian at all times while a child is in attendance at school. It is the parent’s responsibility to keep the school informed of how they can be reached in case of emergency. Light & Life Christian Preschool is not staffed or equipped to adequately care for children with special needs, and we reserve the right to deny admittance and educational services to any child whose needs cannot be met by our existing program. AttendancePreschool students are required to attend the class in which they enrolled and will be charged regardless of actual attendance. However, if your child is absent for illness or other reason, please call the school and let us know. Two weeks notice is required before withdrawing your child from a class at Light & Life Christian Preschool. This allows the school administrator adequate time to fill the vacancy. If notice is not given, you will be charged the full months tuition. We request that your child’s health record be kept up to date. Please provide us with changes in your child’s health and immunizations. Please do not send your child to school if he/she is sick. If your child has diarrhea, fever, a severe cough or runny nose that is yellow or green in color, please keep them home from school. We ask that you do not send your child to school until 24 hours after the symptoms have passed, thus following the guidelines set by the Indiana State Department of Health With peanut allergies doubling in the last few years we must make our facility peanut free. This includes items such as peanut butter, nuts of all kinds, and certain items that include peanut oils in their ingredients. Registration and TuitionPre-registration is required for all students. Pre-school students cannot begin classes until all registration papers are completed and the registration fee is paid. Preschool registration fee $95.00 (Non-refundable) Tuition fees: Tuesday & Thursday class $110.00 Monday, Wednesday, Friday class $130.00 Payment due date 1st of the Month, September - May Tuition is due the 1st day of each month. After the 10th of the month a late payment fee of $20.00 will be charged, whether the child is in attendance or not. If a tuition check is returned for insufficient funds, a charge of $20.00 per check will be charged. If payment is not received by the last day of the month, your child will be dismissed from Light & Life Christian Preschool and the administrator reserves the right to offer his/her place to another student. If re-enrollment is granted, payment of another registration fee will be required. Severe WeatherIn case of severe weather, it may be necessary to close Light & Life Christian Preschool. We will follow the Avon Community Schools closing policy. If Avon Community Schools are closed or delayed, Light & Life Christian Preschool will be closed. Drop-off and Pick-upIn order to ensure safety for all of our students, please do not park under the canopy during drop-off and pick-up times. All children must be accompanied by an adult while on the premises, whether on the playground, in the parking lot, or the building.
Progress ReportsTeachers will be assessing students throughout the year and will send a progress report home twice during the school year. Please do not hesitate to ask your child's teacher about your child's development and progress. At any time, a parent or a teacher can request a conference. We encourage communication between our teachers and parents. Pleas inform us of any concerns or questions you may have regarding your child. Throughout the school year, Light & Life Christian Preschool will plan programs for your children’s participation. Each child is encouraged to be present and take part in these activities. They are for your enjoyment and we welcome all families and visitors to attend. All treats or items being distributed in the classroom must obtain prior approval from the school administrator. Discipline PolicyChild training and discipline are handled with kindness and understanding. Attention is given to the specific needs of each child, while at the same time considering the needs of the group as a whole. Our teachers are trained to help children learn to express their emotions in an age appropriate manner. “Time outs” are used as a learning tool and may be required in the classroom to help a child calm down and regain control of his/her behavior. “Time-outs” help children understand that there are consequences for the choices that they choose to make. Each child will be given guidance by the teacher, so that he/she understands the reason for his/her placement in “time-out”. Light & Life Christian Preschool has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for violent behavior. If a child intentionally injures another student, staff member or destroys property, the child will be sent to the administrator’s office. The administrator will then notify the parents to come and pick up the child; this could lead to dismissal from Light & Life Christian Preschool.
